UVA not requiring SAT scores for fall 2017 transfer students?

I’ve been told by the assistant dean of admissions of UVA that they will not be requiring SAT scores for transfer students applying for the fall 2017 semester. I can’t find this anywhere on their website, so I’m still considering taking the SAT just in case I do need to submit scores.

Has anyone else heard of this and do you think I should take the SAT?

Their web site specifically state you DO need to have an SAT score: https://admission.virginia.edu/transfer/faq#SAT

Unless you have that statement in writing from UVA take the SAT if you haven’t before.

I have the email from the assistant dean of admissions telling me that I do not have to take the SAT because UVA will not require it for students transferring in the fall 2017 semester.

Anyone else know about this?

I’d have to see that email to have a meaningful opinion, but until it’s public knowledge, I’ll remain skeptical.
