UVA OOS acceptance rate

anybody know?

I think it's around 12% but I could be wrong. You might also try posting on the UVA board.

The reason why I am asking is because I have heard from everybody that it is around 14-18%, but I look on Virginia's website and they said 32% for OOS. Any clarification?

scroll down about 1/5 the way to see the numbers I am talking about.... thanks

That's correct, the 32% number. Whoever's telling you 14-18% is incorrect.

we keep the student population at around 32% out of state....so it really depends on the composition of the graduating class; however, due to consistent admissions patterns, the acceptance rate should hover around 32%.

the acceptance rate is 32%, however, the average OOS applicant is more qualified than the average instate applicant. Most OOS applicants are applying to UVA as a backup to schools which are harder to get into.

OOS also include many of the recruited athletes. Cuts down on numbers. Is there any truth to the northern Va discrimination rumor (harder to get into?) Also I heard its harder to get into from MD since such a large number apply

I'm glad I'm wrong - 32% is decent odds for such a fine school.

I wonder what the yield is for OOS applicants. (According to cb, UVa's undergrad population is 1/3 OOS, much like its acceptance rate.)

In 2006, the OOS acceptance rate was 32.4%, and the yield was 36.1%.
For in-staters, the acceptance rate was 44.8% and the yield was 67.7%
