What do you think?

Your GPA is really good!! I think you could get into UVA. The only think that might hurt is that your out of state. It’s really tough to get in, and their acceptance rate for out of state students is really low but you definitely have a good shot. I think you’re safe with the other ones.

Also, pan on taking some SAT subject tests. UVA recommends those.

You have a fair chance at UVA. It’s really a high-match/low reach. I’d recommend shooting for over 2100 on the SAT for better chances.
Chapel Hill should be a low match because you’re in-state.
Your determinations for GW, UMD, and NC state are spot-on.

UVA adm officer told us that they will look first at the senior year courses (rigor) and grades (if avail). If they are competitive, then they look at the rest. (I know, take it with a grain of salt). First and foremost, they want to see rigor. Their stats say that they prefer 5 years of math over 4, and 5 years of a language over 4 (in other words, if you started a language in middle school and then stayed with it through senior year of hs). Any SATs in the 700’s or even >640 are going to be fine if the grades and rigor are there. We know someone who got in this year with SATs in the 1900’s and a GPA of 3.7, and I don’t even know if that is weighted or not. He was very active in student government and poly-lingual.
