Hey guys
i've been accepted as a transfer for both unc-chapel hill and uva.
i'm a chemistry-econ double major, and out of state for both schools
financial awards are about the same, but slight advantage UNC (~5K/yr less)
job prospects/recruiting are also important to me
i know they're peer schools, but anyone have any insight into what i should do?

Assuming the $5K/year isn’t enough to sway your decision, I think UVA is more of a national school and has more opportunities/better recruiting from outside its local area than UNC has outside of Chapel Hill/Durham area. What state are you from and do you think you might want to live there after you graduate?

Also I think the fact that UVA’s student body is 1/3 out of state vs 18% at UNC is a big plus for UVA for an out of state student.

but both schools are great and you can’t go wrong! good luck.

FWIW, i’m from CT.
to be honest, I have no idea where I want to live when i graduate
i suppose i’ll play it by ear.
