UVa or Virginia Tech Engineering

I was just wondering what people thought had a better engineering program. I really like UVa, VTech not so much, but if there is a big difference in programs, that could help my decision. Thanks.

im faced w/ the same problem, but i have already made my choice. UVA ALL THE WAY! remember that going to school isnt just about the program, its about liking where you are. Tech is good in engineering, but its not mit. in my mind they are pretty equal (in engineering, uva is way better in everything else), both good, not at the top. UVA may be more personal because engineering enrollment is smaller. Good luck, and hope to see you next year at UVA!

VaTech is regarded as having the better engineering program, even though UVa is considered the better school overall. If you want to get involved with research as an undergrad, there will be more options at Tech. Either school, though, will prepare you for a good graduate school.

TECH'S engineering is regarded as better, but is it really? UVA is still really good, not far behind tech in those dumb rankings, and the rankings are based on # of students and all that spiel... research at tech, umm probably a better chance, but if you really like UVA, going to tech is not worth it for the small difference (in my opinion).

yeah that is what i was thinking too, im pretty sure i'll go to uva if accepted, thanks for the input

Hope to see you there =) Wahoos! 2009!

I think UVa is flat out better than V-Tech overall.

UVa may be better than Tech overall but the fact remains that Tech is a much better engineering school than UVa, I'm told that in engineering circles Tech is regarded very highly while UVa is not to the same degree.
