<p>UVA is a better overall school and more highly regarded by VT has a better engineering rank. Would it be a disadvantage to go to UVA in terms of getting a job out of school?</p>
<p>I’d say visit both schools. Your personal tastes are really important–you’re going to be going there for four years. Chances are, unless you’re majoring in something silly or you don’t apply yourself at all, you won’t have any trouble finding a job upon graduation regardless of what school you go to.</p>
<p>VT ranks higher than UVA as far as getting a job out of school. The reason being that VT engineering graduates are highly sought after. But I am sure you wouldn’t be at a big disadvantage if you went to UVA.</p>

<p>If you’re going for engineering and want to work in engineering then go to VT. If you want to go on to law school/med school/accounting or whatever then look at UVA.</p>
