I am either going to UVA or W&M next year for undergrad. I am planning on majoring in pre-med,and considering the competition for medical school acceptance, I wanted to know other's opinions on which school will give me a better chance to be admitted into a medical school in the future. Provided, of course, I take care of business.

Also http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/214382-coursework.html and http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/214387-what-should-premed-major.html

As a native Virginian, both are excellent schools. Both have beautiful campuses. UVA is much larger, but ultimately, as always, you should go to a school where you would be most comfortable and happy at.

I think the advising at a smaller school like W&M might be better in the long run, but UVA is an awesome school.

Stick around to see what other people think.

Another question I have of the two schools in question is the grading. Which school, if either, is harsher/rougher on the student when it comes to grading. Thanks.

skyace, since nobody has responded and you are a noob to CC , this part of CC is a generic pre-med board. I think you will get far more specific answers from the UVA or W+M specific boards.

On the left side of your screen, under the heading Top Forums, click on "Colleges". Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to check that out.

I hear that WM has grade deflation. but who knows right? I'm a premed at uva, in the premed classes here the curve is generally so the average is a B/B-.

That seems artificially high.
