UVA (or William and Mary) hopeful

Hi, I would really love to attend UVA. I plan on applying ED to UVA because I have been told it will improve my chances. I also plan on applying to William and Mary regular if I don't get into UVA early. Any thoughts?

Stats:
- white female from MS
- small, very difficult private school since 8th grade
- 31 ACT
- 3.89 GPA on a 4.0 scale UNWEIGHTED
-SAT II's : 710 USH
690 Literature
700 French
- The hardest possible workload taken, started taking AP's as a sophmore. By graduation will have taken 8 AP classes
(Euro History, American History, Government, Calculus, French, Chemistry, Lang and Comp, Latin)
- EC's: over 500+ hours community service at Homeless shelters, YWCA, Habitat, etc; Peer Tutor in French, Physics, and Writing; new student advisor; Ensemble (chosen by director as President for upcoming year); French club President; Annual co-editor; Camp Counselor; Student Director of a day camp for children with autism

would say you have a decent chance. maybe you could get a little bit higher on your SAT IIs and your chances would be even greater! i'm looking into those schools too . . . but I'm instate.

You have a better shot at UVa since the average out of state SAT score at W&M is over 1400.

Actually I heard the SATII's for William and Mary were completely optional, and they mostly use it for placement purposes.(I recently visited the college)
In fact the admissions person said that if the SAT II's were bad, they would pretend like it never happened. At least that's what I heard.

The way to do well in Early admissions is high test scores before EC, the way to do well in Regular admissions is exactly the opposite. UVA is a great school, you sound like a highly plausible candidate

SAT IIs are redundant.
