I know most people looking at the uva section of cc will praise uva, and that is perfectly fine. I posted a similar thread in the wm section to see what both sides say. I plan on majoring in chemistry and would like to do undergraduate research. I would also like to either go to grad school or become a veterinarian. I like the lively atmosphere and top tier academics of uva and I like the academic focus and small school feel of wm.
Please help me choose! I really don't know how to decide between these schools, and I only have a week left.
Thanks!

Scroll through the first few pages of the forum. I think there are at least two threads that are on this same subject.

In short: There is no “right” answer for all, just a right answer for you. You can’t make a bad decision with these choices. :)

Both are outstanding schools, and you can’t really go wrong with either one unless one isn’t as good of a fit for you personally.

That said, I would choose UVa, but I’m a bit biased. ;P

Good luck with your decision!

Will do! I’ve been looking through both uva and wm sections. Thnx dean j!

You’re right, I’m biased over here on the UVa side, but I will say that outside of the region W & M is not as known. It’s odd to me too, because I am also in northern VA and know that W & M and UVa really are the same level of education and prestige. But for instance, I was just in CA and some people asked me where W & M was located! What?! But everyone knew UVa and it’s calliber. It’s odd, and although not something that I would say to base your final decision on, just something that we’ve come across. Probably just due to the size of the schools.
