I would say you’re a pretty competitive candidate in their application pool. If these were my own stats, the only thing I would be mildly concerned over would be the GPA. However, I do believe your extra-curriculars do makeup for it. Just be aware that when you elaborate on your extra-curriculars that you don’t seem to spread yourself thin. For example, simply being a Key Club member isn’t really “outstanding”. So I would say it’d be better for you to not even list Key Club so you seem like youre more focused on your other activities.

@52balletvieta okay thank you. Do you think that matters in comparison with the amount of AP, Aice and Dual Enrollment classes I have taken? Which is 21.

Do I think what matters? Extra-curriculars? Your AP’s are those of a competitive student. They don’t deviate from what is expected really, which is also my case. I’ve taken nearly the exact same APs as you, along with the capstone. However your Aice and Dual classes will definitely set you apart from the other people. With that being said, UVA or any college really does not want to see a nerd in his bedroom all day long just working on academic things and don’t further society. So I’d say the extra-curriculars are important in demonstrating how you have impacted your community and how you will continue to impact others in the college community.

@52balletvieta Okay thank you. I appreciate it and hope you get in wherever you want to go

@afreedman No problem! Funny thing is, I also want to go to UVA :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck! Hopefully we’re different enough so they can accept the both of us.
