UVA pre-med vs Georgetown pre-med?

Hi all! I was just recently accepted to UVA, as well as Georgetown University. I am so grateful, but extremely distraught as to which school I should pick. I will be majoring in biology with a pre-med track at both schools.

Firstly, UVA is closer, only 5 hours away from my hometown. It has an overall feel of the true, organic “college experience” to me, and I really love the campus and its surrounding area. A few of my friends will be there, and I feel as though I’ll cultivate a closer, more intimate network of friends and advisors there.

Georgetown is so lovely, and is, of course, known for its prestige. I have family that lives 20 minutes from campus, and I LOVE DC. However, Gtown isn’t really known for its health sciences. The school is notorious for its School of Foreign Service and I feel like although there are completely qualified and competent professors at Gtown, I feel as though UVA would give me more wholesome, one-on-one relationships with my professors, therefore allowing me to learn and grow more. One major plus is that pre-med students at Georgetown have the opportunity to have guaranteed admittance to the med school their sophomore year without ever taking the MCAT. A con to Georgetown is that I’d feel as though I’d be out of place, because I’m from the South, and the serious atmosphere makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Overall, both are great schools, but I am looking for some guidance as to which one to choose! Thanks in advance!!

BUMP!
