UVA premed

I recently found out that I was taken off the waitlist for UVA and I already have submitted my deposit for William and Mary. However, now that UVA is an option I am stuck between both schools. I am going to be a bio major and I want to be a doctor. I know that William and Mary doesn’t have a premed program, but rather advising and a set of prerequisites. However they have an impressive statistic of students admitted to med school. Would attending UVA as a premed have significant advantages over attending W&M as a premed? And does attending UVA have any advantages in general over William and Mary? Does anyone have any experience with how UVA treats/helps their premeds and any insight on how being a premed at UVA is? Or even just being a bio major?
Answers would be much appreciated as I only have 48 hours to decide on UVA! Thanks

Where will you be happy? That’s probably where you will do your best work.

We could lay out of the stats, but really, you need to go to the school where you think you will earn fabulous grades in the prerequisites for med school. If you aren’t happy and engaged, you aren’t going to get the grades.

As someone living in Williamsburg I recommend UVA over W&M for premed. The hospitals around W&M are smaller regional facilities. To get into med school many students volunteer at the hospital. The opportunities will be much greater in the medical field or even premed at UVa simple because of size and the medical facilities on campus. W&M really shines for a liberal arts degree, but for a more science/math related field UVa is general better.
