UVA Regular Decision Class of 2018

I feel like I’m going to cry ahhhhh
The funny thing is I’m going there tonight with a group a friends so I only live an hour away, this may be interesting (:

Good to know that today is the day. I was going to become a neurotic mess if I had to wait much longer. I honestly hope I get into this one. I don’t want to accept having to go to my safety school.

Its confirmed. Good luck tonight everyone!! I loved UVA 30 years ago, and so does my D (class of 2017). She is a first year kinesiology major, has joined her association council (dorm leadership, they plan events etc) and a sorority, has enjoyed football, soccer, and basketball and is a very happy girl. I wish you all luck tonight. For those of you “re-directed”, I share this: a legacy friend of hers did not get the decision she wanted last year; she was wait-listed. Eventually, she was offered a spot but she had done the wise thing and fully embraced her next school. She stayed with it and has had an utterly fantastic year. I don’t think you could pay her to transfer now. So, if things don’t work as you hope, please open your minds and your hearts to other schools on your list and know things really do happen for a reason. Of course, kleenex are allowed while you try to figure out the reason. Best wishes, Class of 2018, wherever you wind up in August. Oh- and Go 'Hoos! (Can’t resist a little March Madness…)

Good luck everyone!

I didn’t get an e-mail, but just checked portal and my decision was up. I got deferred and now waitlisted, but have already been accepted to my dream school so this was really just for fun. Good luck all and remember you will end up where you are meant to.

Accepted OOS! Ecstatic and surprised!
2120/3.93UW (White male, unhooked. Good EC’s, loved my essays.)

really good ECs too!

A couple of kids from my school (who are definitely no better than me) applied EA and got in, so I’m kinda pissed about this…

Waitlisted OOS after being deferred EA. Sigh. So much waiting.

Accepted in-state after previously being deferred! Ahhhhhh I’m so happy!!! Best of luck to everyone else awaiting their decisions!

My son was accepted-yay

Waitlisted.

I was actually expecting a rejection since my application was really rushed. I had a lot of fun writing the essays (in record time) though!

2320 SAT
3.88 UW / 4.71 W

I’ll stay on the waitlist but I’m not expecting anything special. Congratulations to everyone who was admitted!!

Checking in a second. Fully expect bad news.

Accepted- College of Arts and Sciences. Seriously just made my day.

All recommendations should have been very good.

I can honestly say that I’m surprised. I didn’t think that my essays were good at all. Perhaps they were good, or perhaps the strength of my numbers got me in.

ACCPETED!
In-state
30 ACT
4.37 gpa
I think what got me in was my recommendations, essays, and ec!

Congrats to all!

Waiting List

Accepted
hbu nova

Rejected (OOS)… 33 ACT, rank 13/500+, 8 APs. Average ECs, but almost all geared toward my major. Also own my own business. Essays were decent, but I did take a risk. Recs were good. UVA wasn’t my first choice, but it’s definitely disappointing to get flat out rejected… I was expecting to at least get waitlisted. I haven’t heard from any other school except for WashU (waitlisted), so this definitely doesn’t leave me confident for the rest of my upcoming decisions (UMich, Notre Dame, UNC, USC, UPenn).

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted, and good luck to those who haven’t checked yet.

Deferred EA-Waitlisted RD - OOS (International)
2240, 730 M2, 700 English Lit.

I got waitlisted as well; I’m not super bummed about it though. I was expecting it

2330 SATs
97.8 W GPA
Out of state
Essays were alright, ECs aren’t bad but they’re not spectacular

A huge congrats to those who got accepted!

Daughter was denied admission. Good luck, all.
