Hey, I am applying for the spring. I am an out of state student (Texas) studying economics and philosophy. I have a 3.87 at a 4 year institution. My sat (old) was a 1340. Anyway I have some leadership and other positions so I hope I have a good shot.
Anyone else

I know you guys already are planning to apply and hopefully attend UVa, but have you checked out the UVa thread? Lots of stuff about why it is the best University in the world! Good Luck!

I actually submitted my application a couple days ago. I'm a non-trad (2001 graduate from high school) and I have 30 credits with a 4.0 and lots of life experience. My main concern at this point is getting in-state residency at UVA...otherwise I'll go somewhere else as there's no way I could afford the $33,000/year tab.

Have you heard of the new UVa program called AccessUVa? UVa now gives a lot of financial aid to students, so it may not cost 33,000/year. Check it out by searching for it on Google.

good luck you guys, i am not tryin for UVA, but UW Madison for Spring...should know in a few weeks.

Silent dog, i am in the same situation, i dont want to pay outa state, but you have to for the first year, and dont expect much or nothing for aid for sping since most is already gone. But see it like this, do well when your there, mantain good grades and you will be awarded scholarship, repeal your outa state tuition after a year, work, apply for as many scholarships as possible outside of school and i think you would maybe end up with 30-40,000 in debt. That is what i am looking for, scholarship for my swimming, business school etc etc and appeal after a year. Its a lot of money, but with loans at around 5%, it would be around $400 a month for 10 years, and $700 something for 5, its not the bad in the end.
I am planning around 20-25 and i dont think thats bad since average is 17-18 and i would be outa state
