UVa Status???

you took the words right outta my mouth

Gawd, you people need to try to calm down. Go out an get some exercise. They create an ISIS account for everyone who applies. They block certain features until decisions and deadlines are made. Man, you are just reading WAY too much into these things.

Katt, how can you put any credence into wmrock's assertion? He has no facts to support his comments. It's just an assumption. It's not a knock on wmrocks, I just don't want people to string themselves along and possibly get hurt worse later on. It took me about a week to get over my waitlist/rejection.

Stumper, I agree. I am no longer excited, but more apprehensive about finding out the truth. As I stated in another thread, I almost don't want to know the results. Fervent is a great word to describe my current state.

"woah ppl calm down! every1s lookin in to things WAY too deeply!...i emailed one of the deans and he said the deans are making their final reviews right now but we won't find out til next week or the week after"

Then how'd they come up with these numbers?....

<a href="http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm</a></p>

asbuckeye, what do you mean? Look at the top of the page. It's last year's data.

University of Virginia
Common Data Set: D. TRANSFER ADMISSION
2004-2005

<a href="http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm</a></p>

Sigh, I don't know what to believe now, but I will tell you this, and it's only what "I" think, Stumper, so don't get upset with me. It would seem a little ridiculous (MY opinion here) that they enter ALL the applicants on the ISIS. Why go to all that trouble for everyone when it will only be the students who are accepted that will be using the website? I read about the blocked features, and you may be right, Stumper. I guess that's how they keep track of everyone who gets accepted/waitlisted/rejected. Just seems like a lot of extra work. And if they wanted to block those that aren't admitted, why are they able to go as far as logging in a new 9 digit password? It would seem that particular prompt would never show up or be blocked.

Just wishful thinking, AGAIN!

Katt, rather than go to the trouble to write a completely separate login script for transfer applicants, the webmasters probably just decided that it would be easier to use the same one that "real" students use. Once logged in, blocking all the features is a piece of cake. But you know, I don't think UVa admins even expect transfers will try logging into ISIS. If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't have.

Stumper- Oh see I thought it meant transfer students for the fall of 2005...but you're right, it is last year's data

Katt- When I log into ISIS it basically only has my social and name. So I am guessing that when you apply the server just automatically makes an account for you.

And, I bet the reason we are even in the ISIS system is for organizational purposes. We have been converted into a digital profile for their convenience.

That's fair Katt. You're certainly entitled.

Hmm... Lets try an anology... A light needs electricity in order to power on, right? What happens if you wait to build the powerplant until after you turn on the switch?

If they wait until after they make their decisions to build the infrastructure i.e., Registration, FinAid, Housing...etc., they'll have to play catch-up and risk a very unsettling admission process.

I like the idea of playing with ISIS. Knowing how to find info and use their systems will be half the battle. Hoo knows, what if they enter some info early, then you'll really have some hard facts about your admission.

BTW, I was able to check ISIS to see if they actually rec'd my FinAid paperwork. I also played around with the degree programs too. Cool stuff.

that's pretty neat about isis...i'll have to check that out. btw, i've tried checking my online app. status (talk about watching the pot) and it's not accepting my username and/or password anymore, even when I check for case-sensitivity.... Tried emailing online admissions, but still haven't heard back from them. has anyone else had this problem?

Ready...set...speculate! :P

No problem here. Try checking your status a little later. The internet can be a little quirky at times.

I have tried many times to log into ISIS and it won't let me login...well I guess you all that were able to log in are accepted and I am...well rejected...::sigh::

wmrocks- No....

Go ahead, beat yourself up! (Don't)

haha I'm serious!!!!!!! how do you guys login...I'm putting my date of birth (08/20) like: 0820&0820...how about if there are two applicants with the same birthdate though?

wmrocks,

You are following the instructions, right? Did you create your own password? You have to include a character like !@#$%^&*() in your new password.

username should be SSN right?

wmrocks, try resetting your password. If that fails, you could also try sending isis@virginia.edu an email to see if there is an acct for you.

And the plot thickens...

Your social as the username and that b-day stuff as the password.

Stumper- is ISIS showing your credits? when I run degree audits it always says "error"

asbuckeye07, for non-UVa credits, I get THERE IS NO INFORMATION FOR THIS STUDENT.
