I'm impatient for May 1st. Could anyone tell me what they think my chances are for being accepted as a Transfer student at UVA?

Stats:
instate female

Major: English (Pre-Law), Minors: International Studies, Political Science

college GPA: 3.62
SAT score: 1350 (old), 2000 (new)
49 credits (w/ APs)
ECs: Dorm Vice President, pledging a national service fraternity
HS ECs: senior class VP, student government, very involved in various committees and advisory boards for fairfax county, va, played soccer, piano, and on guitar ensemble, etc etc

AP scores: 4s and 5s, took 6 APs in high school

I can't think of anything else relevant...I have good recommendations, one from a close high school teacher, and one from an amazing English professor.

Any thoughts?

PLEASE? I'm dying here.

I think you need about a 3.7 College GPA to get in the business school plus 63 units. (I'm more familiar with their requirements).

As an English major a 3.62 might do it especially in-state, but I don't understand you only having 49 units unless you mean not counting the current semester. If you are going to have 63+ units at the end of this term, then I'd give you about a 50-55% chance if you've taken a challenging set of courses. The reason the odds are higher is due to your lack of leadership while in college. Virginia really likes to see that students have taken a tough courseload and that they have been in leadership activities while in college.

P.S. Your high school leadership activities and high school GPA make very little difference at this point.

Best of luck.

Being a pledge takes up your entire time, so along with my duties as Vice President, there is just no time for anything else. And this is my first year in college, how could i possibly have 63 credits?

Like I said, I was talking about the business school (McIntyre Commerce). Over there you can't apply until you are going to have 63 units completed at the end of the semester you are applying in.

I know that program won't accept transfers until they are going to be juniors. I do not know what the rules are for the English program and whether or not they will accept freshman/sophomore transfer students.
