UVA uses the common app, and the generic common app question is: Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

Meanwhile, their supplement essay is: How do the possible career or professional plans you indicated on the Common Application relate to your planned course of study?

My problem: at least for me, these essays seem like the same thing. Without getting too specific, the whole reason I'm applying to UVA is because they offer both a B.A. in my major and a B.S., while my current school only offers the B.S.. I'm interested in pursuing a double major for the sole reason that it'll help me with my career goals, but at my current school, the core curriculum and the B.S. requirements are too restrictive to conceivably pursue the B.S. and another major.

With this in mind, how should I go about writing these two essays?

I'm also applying to UVA for transfer and feel the same way you do. Most of the reasons I want to transfer can be mentioned in the first essay. However, to answer the second (supplement) essay, I feel like I'd be repeating myself.

He told you to look at it later? Why purpose would that serve? Anyway, I think I'm going to state why I want to transfer to UVA in the generic common app essay, and how I plan to achieve my career in relation to what I want to study, in the supplement essay.

Hey Sudstar and Rollz4, im also looking to apply as a transfer to UVA. That question is straightforward yet difficult to answer in some ways. I mean, we all have our own reasons for wanting to transfer, but the question makes it seem like one maybe better than another.
Do you all mind posting some of your stats, such as college, gpa, etc?

I wish you all luck as well, transferring isn't easy even after you do get in.
