Hi guys! If you are looking to transfer in 2022 to UVA for the fall, this is the thread you can post stuff in.
Hi! I don’t know if anyone will see this because this is for Fall '22, but there is no thread yet for that, so I am adding it here. Could someone tell me my chances of getting into UVA Fall '22 as a sophomore?
Current university: University of Richmond (private)
College GPA: 3.5
Credits done: About 40? including this semester
HS GPA: weighted 4.4
College extracurriculars:
- Student government senator
- Mock Trial and URichmond Mock trial is one of the best in the country so that’s something
- Founded the school’s chapter for Amnesty International and am the lead student coordinator
Other notable things: - Currently doing a virtual internship for pre-law
- Have volunteered with local refugee community for 5 years now
- Have worked at Starbucks for about 7 months now
Recommendations: from a seminar professor who went to Harvard
No SAT scores, and my reason for transferring is the fact that UVA has more resources available for pre-law students to get experience in the legal field than URichmond.

Also, I just thought I’d let you know of some useful things about UVA.
- That SIS Message is Completely Unreliable (Based on results I’ve seen from other people)
- Decisions are released all at once at the end of April (Usually around the 27th-30th)
HS GPA: Not very good, but since I have an associates degree, hopefully they’ll focus less on HS.
Current College: A Ny community college
Current College GPA: 3.85. I do have an associates with distinction and presidents list.
Intended Major: Commerce
Hooks: Talked about how I identify with the lgbtq+ community, and could bring my experiences to the UVA community. Idk if that’s a hook lol.
Essays: I would say my essays are pretty good, with my Business essay being my strongest.
ECs: Chief Officer of Alpha Beta Gamma(Business Honor Society). Member of Accounting Club. Also work 25 hours a week.
I’m definitely a bit worried since Business is so competitive and that I’m an out of state student. Do you think I have a chance?
Applying to Econ major from top 70 state university
Current Cum College Gpa: 3.89
HS GPA: 3.6
SAT: Waived
Credits: 79
Have any of you received your sis portals?
i did
Yeah. What’s it for?
where do you find it
Its the financial aid portal
Usuallly they send you an email with the info for it unless youve previously applied and in that case you already have an account
Are any of you transferring as sophomores, so in your first year now?
I am
Any chance we hear before may 1?
April 30th the earliest I think
I wanna know so bad
Me too lol
Anybody know which day it usually comes out on and/or what time during the day it releases? I got finals 27/28/29 so having an idea of roughly when it might drop would be amazing given it being such a rough week.
Also another question, does going to a highly ranked college known for having rigorous courses improve your chances in any way?
I heard it may come out this friday
