I am a freshman transfer student in the state of VA and am wondering about my chances of getting in as a 2nd-year student. For reference, I have a 3.85 college GPA with 50 credits done. In my application, I had two strong essays as well. I plan on transferring to the college of arts and science and then major in econ. Although, In my highschool in NOVA, I did poorly and had a 2.7 GPA. Do I have any shot at getting into UVA for my sophomore year? Thanks for any advice, knowledge, or personal experience that you might have with this topic!
Hey, kinda me too! I go to VCU right now and am applying to UVA. My gpa in high school was 3.3-3.4 don’t remember. I have a 3.875 and I’m hoping too! If you’re a VA resident and you don’t get into UVA this year and it’s your dream, I would suggest community college. If you go to any community college in VA and get a 3.5, there’s 100% guaranteed admission! If all else fails, that’s my plan. Then again I was at a Va cc before VCU lol. Just my take on it. Best of luck!
(I’m applying as a third year, though)
