UVA Transfer Options

I want to to McIntire, and i'm not sure what to do. I've got 2 options.

1) Apply to the school of CAS for sophomore status, then try internally transferring into McIntire

2) Transfer directly into McIntire for junior status

Does anyone know admission rates? I'd assume that internal transfers have a much easier time getting in.

My HS stats were a 3.67 GPA and 1900 SAT (1300 M+V). I'm OOS. Do you think these stats are good enough to make me competitive for sophomore admission? I'd assume that as a junior transfer, my college GPA would be much more important than my HS stats.

Why not do both?

If you get a good GPA wherever you go next year, you may have a good shot at getting in as a transfer.

Well, it's very hard to get into most business schools as an external transfer, they usually take their internal transfers first, and have very low acceptance rates for external transfers (Hass takes about 18%, McCombs about 2%, and other schools are similar in admissions), however high rates (around 60%) for internal transfers. So i'm thinking that if I transfer directly to the business school, I may not be admitted.

However, if I transfer to the university as a different major (something like nursing that would help me in general admissions into the university), then once i'm in the university, I would have a better chance for B-School admission.

Then again, once I get in UVA, I may not get into the B-School, and I could be stuck there without a major (which would be terrible, although I suppose I could do Economics).

Again, you could do both. Apply next year, and if you don't get in, apply again. If you get in next year but you don't get into the business school, major in something that interests you. Plenty of people with liberal arts majors get good jobs.

Does UVa require SAT II's for transfer applicants?
