Please post your stats if you were a transfer accepted to UVA, or if you know someone that was, post their's. Thanks!

Oh brother, looks like my chances are slim to none. :(

what are your stats katt

i applied w/ a 3.3 at a community college in VA and i have taken some hard math and science classes.

Don't get discouraged with all of the high stats because everyone is unique and there is always hope that they will like you and what you can bring to the Charlottesville community

I'm a freshman, and I've recently been nominated for NSCS if that makes any difference--I'm not sure it does. But, you all can check the rest of my stats on the other file, somthing like "UVA Chances".

H.S. GPA: 3.5
JMU GPA: 4.0
Very good recommendations
A very strong essay
My SAT's are good, but Greg Roberts told me they don't matter at all.

HS GPA: 3.5
UMD GPA: 3.6
Great Recs
Strong Essay (at least I've been told)
SAT: Not good (1200)
EC's: Outstanding

I don't think the EC's will help with my poor SAT scores. Oh well...

i am applying as a senior in high school now. i had a question. do you have EC's at college now and put it down? or ec's in high school

I put my EC's at college and high school.

what kind of ec's do u have at college

Greg ROberts (the dean of transfer admissions) said not to include high school activities because they were in the past. He wants to know what you're doing now.

what kind of ec's are you expected to have?

2tired,
JMU nor UVA's transfer app said anything about only listing college EC's, so I put college and high school. I would think they would want to see both if for no other reason than to see that you didn't suddenly decide to become active in college and weren't active at all in high school. Just doesn't make sense to me. And as for SAT's, if you're still a freshman at JMU, UVA does look at them. Sucks for me, though. Well, I can only hope and pray they think my essay is killer.

Sorry, sorry. I was unclear. Earlier this year I had asked Dean Roberts if I should try retaking the SAT, and he said that a score within the 1200's is solid for transfer admissions. So, you're right, UVa does look at them; however, they don't nearly the weight in transfer applications as they do in first year apps.
As for E.C.'s--I'm just telling you what I heard. I also put them down, thinking they'd be helpful, but I was just told that they are not significant in the transfer app process. I totally hear what you're saying though.

Now the long wait...:(

2tired, send me a PM about your experience at JMU.

Hey,

If there is ANY time left (one day I think) apply to UNC-CH. Very similar to UVA and much easier to get into as a transfer (they drop their out of state quota). My brother got in: 1290, 3.5HS GPA, 3.35 College GPA (at a decently good school).

I could apply to UNC online, but then the transcripts wouldn't get there on time.

Anyone else seeing under the status that your transcripts aren't noted as being received? I know they posted that they're still entering transcripts, but getting a little worried. Although, the other schools I applied to received everything so I'm hoping UVA has them as well.

UVA says they haven't received my college transcript yet and it was sent out February 10th. They said it takes a couple weeks to process sometimes. I would worry about it. If it still isn't there in a week or so, you can always send another one out. If you explain your situation... they know mistakes happen with this sometimes...

Thanks Toph! I think I sent mine around the middle of Feb. and then another one just to be sure about a week or so ago.

That was supposed to say wouldn't worry about it... but it seems you picked up on it... so umm... there really isn't a point to this message :)
