Johnnie198x,

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: i guess college grades etc[/li][/ul]General Comments: Still don’t know if I’m going to UVA or UNC or staying at Villanova. Still have to hear from Gtown too…my feelings about transferring change everyday, but right now, it’s definitely a transfer to UVA day

hey bankersball 2:
That seems really impossible, you’ve got such a nice status, how can you be rejected? my friend who is an international student from china, and she got like 3.7 gpa in msu, and no sat scores, only a little above 100 on toefl ibt. chinese undergraduate student and scholars association, secretary for one year. and she got accepted by nyu and majored in political science. I knew that you got a bad grade on one course in your first semester, but, you just took the course again and covered the original grades right? so, UVA should not able to tell whether you got a bad grade before or not.

However, according to the website of UVA, the buiness college take in for like 30 students each year, not only 10

Haha, it seemed impossible to me too, but UVA-McIntire and NYU-Stern must honestly believe that they have more qualified candidates that deserve the opportunity that I don’t.

I didn’t think that I could do much more than get a 4.0, have good standardized test scores, be extremely active on campus, work consistently during school at one of the most innovative companies in the world, pour myself into my essays and seek the most influential figures on campus to write my recommendations.

Alas, this isn’t a forum for me to vent. We ought to celebrate the achievements of those who were admitted and wish them the best of luck as they pursue their hopes and dreams.

With regard to my grade replacement, although my GPA is changed to reflect my most recent attempt at the repeated 100-level course, both of my attempts remain on my transcript. I wrote a thoughtful, contrite piece to explain my initial difficulties, but my decision is what it is, and it will not change however much I’d like for it to.

One last note: Your friend looks like she applied to the NYU School of Arts and Sciences, which traditionally has a higher acceptance rate than the NYU-Stern School of Business. Junior transfers like me also have more difficulty getting accepted than sophomore transfers.

@ hughxu: McIntire offers 30-35 students, but 70% are from VA, so that leaves 10 positions for OOS

@ hoffman_oliver: congrats, and just one quick question, any ideas why they picked you over capwoo or bankersball2? their stats are as great as yours.

maybe cultuer diversity. her first language is not english, which make her more competitive.

@ Johnny, honestly I dont think I am any better than capwoo and bankersball, since their stats are both amazing, and I am really flattered that I am one of the 10 OOS. I guess the reputation of my current school helped me a little bit; and I really spent quite sometime learning the specialties of McIntire and reading researches from their professors. I let them know that I was applying to their school not because of the prestige that comes with the name nor the average starting salaries but because of their special education/ academic curriculum that fits my interest.

Good luck with you guys too.
