Hi! I applied to a few places early (UVA, UNC, Georgetown, Tulane, UC Boulder) and I’m applying to other places regular (Emory, USC, Tufts, WashU, Colgate, Wisconsin, SUNY Bing, Grinnell, Middlebury and Kenyon).
SAT: 1470 (No good SAT2 scores / AP scores)
Grades: A-/B+ range
activities: lit mag editor, political club leader, softball captain, peer tutor, tour guide, math team, camp counselor
I go to a private school in Cali
What are my chances! Mostly for my EA schools, but for everywhere!
My son has similar stats from a known private school. I believe Georgetown requires 3 SAT2s so that looks unlikely to me. UVA and UNC are really tough for out of state so those look like a reach. Tulane looks like a high match if you’ve demonstrated interest. If not, I’d say unlikely in EA. Boulder looks likely. I’m not familiar with some of the other schools but many look like reaches to me with a few matches. SUNY Bing might be a low match / high likely. I’d add a few more sure things although if you are happy with Boulder you should know soon enough. The best advice will be from your college counselor and Naviance data. These schools are all over the place as far as size and city v. country is concerned. It’s hard to see a common thread.
On another thread you said 4 years of basketball, and no softball. Why is that? You also said you thought your GPA was around a 3.5. If that’s the case, I think your list is very reach-heavy. What state are you from? What can your parents afford to pay?
Georgetown without SAT 2 scores (or bad SAT 2 scores) is an automatic ding. UVA and UNC OOS are very unlikely with your stats. Emory, Tufts, USC, Wash U, Tulane and Middlebury are all reaches. You should be OK for UC Boulder.
