Ok so I am pretty much applying to the best state schools in the country (besides UC Berkely I'm not a genius). They basically include UVA, UNC, Michigan, UCLA, UW Madison. My unweighted GPA is about 3.75 but kids from my school tend to get in places with slightly lower GPA's than the average accepted. Even so, I know that I am not very likely to get into all of these schools but I feel like if I apply to all of them my odds of getting into one or two is pretty decent. Please let me know my chances for the schools and of I am dumb for thinking this.

PS- I am trying to go to school where grades are not all anybody cares about so if anybody with experience with these schools or other top public schools could give me advice on this that would be great.

Need your ACT/SAT scores, Extracurriculars, Course Loads etc to make a much more accurate prediction.

None of the schools will consider only GPA. However, some schools like UMich does put more emphasis on it. You can find that on the CDS of each school.

I’m a junior so I haven’t taken my SATs yet but it is looking like I will get around 2000-2200. I did get a 760 on the bio SAT 2 but I don’t know how much that helps. My extracurriculars are sports and charity work (the usual) but nothing extraordinary. I am in all advanced classes and taking a couple of AP’s. Basically I am an average high school student. Also thanks for responding.

Also I don’t know if either of you went to one of these schools but it would be great to here somebodys input about any of them.

I take the 760 in biology as a sign you will probably do VERY well on the SATS. But you can’t count your chickens before they hatch. If you do 700’s on each section you’re in the ball field for UNC and UVA but they are both hard to get in to OOS. I can’t comment on the others. What state do you live in? You are probably going to be eligible for some merit at some schools but until you do the SAT it’s all academic. Pun intended. Once you have some scores folks here will have lots of suggestions. Good luck on the tests.

Thanks a lot that was very informative. I live in New York so all of these places a are OOS for me. I will also be making another post as soon as I get my SAT scores.
