UVA undergraduate philosophy

Can anyone give me some insight on how strong the philosophy program is at UVA?</p>

<p>I have also applied for NYU, Cornell, Yale, Chicago and Georgetown.</p>

<p>How does its phil program compare to those?</p>

<p>One of U.Va.'s Rhodes Scholars this year was a product of the Philosophy Distinguished Majors Program; the faculty must be doing something right!</p>

<p>I usually don't take these rankings seriously, because they're based on reputational surveys, and reputation is often influenced by the research and publications coming out of an institution, instead what's really important for undergraduate education: teaching.</p>
