<p>I'm currently signing up for DOTL and the first field is "UVa User ID". Is this the same thing as our username for SIS? I'm a little confused because the example they provide is "mst3k" which is only 5 characters while my login user is 6 characters.</p>

<p>My id (entered in 2006) is 5. However, some people in my year and more and more in the years following were 6. Now I think 99 if not 100% are 6 digits. Some of the professors who have been here a while have 3 digit ids (just initials).</p>
<p>^^ Very good possibility. It’s typically your initials, number, letter…of course if there are a lot of people with your initial combination, then they throw an extra letter in at the end.</p>
