UVA v. Georgetown v. St. Andrews for History

If history is your intended major, I would lean more towards UVA as their history department is larger than Georgetown’s and there will probably be a greater number of course offerings. When researching history departments at multiple campuses, we found the smaller the school, the smaller the course offerings. Also looked at professors’ area of interest/research to make sure that some specialized in the history area he was seeking. For example, if you are interested in East Asian studies, having some profs that are experts in that area will lead to more course offerings, research opportunities, thesis’s advisors, etc. Don’t know anything about St. Andrew’s but studying overseas could be a phenomenal experience.
