So I guess I should make this decision now. I am probably going to do business or economics as a major. I am in-state VA. Considering law school(Not sure if that makes any difference), which seems to be more prominent at UVa. I guess, I'm not much of a partier. Will this effect how much I will enjoy my experience and which I should choose?

I'm not putting this on either of their forums, because I want less bias.
Small things: I also for into UofMich,WakeForest,GaTech, and VaTech-Honors. Have not turned them down yet. About 50 people from my HS are going to UVa next year. More like 15 to W&M.

I think that most people would naturally tend toward the big school - big party - big athletics scene or the smaller, more intimate environment. For me it’d be W&M, but that’s just my personality. I’d think that UVa would probably draw 6 out of 10 random cross-admits.

Virginia is larger and louder. Virginia is more UNC/UCLA. W&M is more Brown/Amherst. Mountains vs Beach. Do you want to be one of 15000 (50 from HS) or 5500 (15 from HS). Be honest with yourself and you will make the best decision for you.

If business is your thing, UVa is leaps and bounds ahead of W&M for campus recruiting but that is really the only area in which either school significantly beats the other. If you don’t care, then it all comes down to where you think you’ll fit in better.

Look on the UVA sub-forum. There have been a plethora of these posts popping up lately. But, you can’t go wrong with either choice. Both schools have very different feelings.

If you aren’t much of a partier I say W&M. For me it was the right mix of academic/social. Studious kids, but ready for fun when I wanted to have fun. Also, the smaller student body felt good to me - big enough for variety, but not overwhelming. Good luck!
