Confused over which school to go to....Everyone is telling me Carnegie for some reason which i do not know... I am not sure which has the better engineering school...and how much to account for the financial aspect...UVa is instate tuition while Carnegie means work-study and loans and debt...What should I do

CMU is surely better for engineering (i am fairly certain). If you dont have a real favorite (and it doesn't sound like you do) go for UVA, although I personally think CMU is worth dabt and work-study. Go into debt over college only if it is worth it to you to attend that college...

Go to UVA.

I picked CMU Business over UVA business and I would do the same for Engineering. The reasons are in the job opps/salaries as well as rankings and prestige.

It is not unusual to pick Virginia Tech over UVA for engineering and according to my old friends about half of them did (those that were concentrated on engineering). Therefore I would definitely recommend Carnegie Mellon for engineering over both UVA and VTech.

Thanks...still haven't decided I think I have like what 3 days left..haha..But thanks.

although CMU is definitely better than UVA for engineering, i dont think its worth tons of debt because Virginia is still very respected in the business/engineering world.
