I have been accepted to all four of these schools and now must make a decision. I am interested in either chemical or biomedical engineering if I attend duke, vandy, or uva and chemistry at unc. My top two choices are probably duke and uva but im definently still considering the other two. I have recieved a partial scholarship from unc so that is going to be part of my decision and as an out of state student uva would be fairly expensive as far as public schools go. I am still waiting to hear about any scholarships I may have won or about financial aid from uva, duke, and vandy. I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts about any of these schools. I appreciate anyones and everyones comments. Thanks.

if you're interested in biomedical engineering then I would definetely choose Duke because UNC i believe is just developing an engineering program and UVA and Vandy's engineering programs are ranked much lower (33 overall for UVA and i think 47 for Vandy!) compared to Duke (19 or 22 i think) according to US news. Also Duke has the #2 biomed engineering program in the country and an excellent medical school if that becomes an option from biomed engineering. However, this is all if money is not an issue. If money is an issue then I would definitely choose UNC because of the excellent quality education, as chemistry is strong there, for a low price!

I would agree go with Duke, Duke has prestige and everything else you want in a four year college. Duke also has great research.
Can you chance me please

Are you in-state for UNC?

Guys, this thread is over 4 years old. Chances are, the OP has graduated by now!!! LOL!

You have the power Alexandre to close this thread permanently.

Yes, but as Uncle Ben would say, “with great power comes great responsibility!”

Congrats on that, I’d go Duke.
