UVA vs Emory

@ok4waitingsolong, good luck at UVa if that’s where you end up. Below is a college recruiting article that you might find helpful since you’re interested in finance. If investment banking is your goal, UVa is more of a target school than Emory. Among “Bulge Bracket” companies like Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, etc., neither school is Top 10, but among “Non-Bulge Bracket” companies like Blackstone, HSBS, Lazard, and Rothschild, UVa is 4th following Penn and NYU.

Hey, if you want to work for Blackstone, you have a good shot according this article – “UVA draws huge percentages from the Blackstone Group (25%)”…“the Blackstone Group puts strong emphasis on only two academic institutions in the top 10 - UVA and the University of California, Berkeley.”

UVA.

@Globalist I agree UVA is better, but that article doesn’t seem credible. Blackstone no longer does any banking. They spun it off several years ago.

I know Blackstone hires computer engineers to do analysis, my son interviewed with them last semester at UVA.

@momofthree55 Yep. The article and my post were discussing investment banking. Blackstone hires for a ton of non-banking roles still.

UVA much better representation on wall street and has generally good business focus
