I was admitted to both UVA and Georgetown's School of Foreign Service. Both very competitive, both great schools. At UVA I was given a $5500 loan, but no financial aid at Georgetown (which costs $60,000 per year). Is there any justification for paying the extra money at Georgetown if I am interested in business?

Business? Isn’t SFS pretty career specific on government/Foreign Service related stuff?

Also, are you in-state?

nope, out of state

erm SFS is purely to do with international relations under which you specialize in international economics etc. if you wanted to do business in Georgetown why didn’t you apply to the Mc Donough school of Business? :S

McIntire >>>> McDonough

Completely agree with you wahoomb! When choosing between McIntire or McDonough, its a no brainer. McIntire wins hands down… But if he/she is interested in International Relations and economics, then I would go with Georgetown SFS.

SFS is a decent choice for finance/investment-banking even though
its focus is in government/international relations.
Their alumni and career services are phenomenal.

You just take the intro finance/accounting class at McDonugh and you’re set for the business
world.

I really love UVa but SFS is very strong and unique that you can make to every field of jobs after graduating.

I don’t think Georgetown is worth the extra cost…if UVA and Georgetown were the same price, I would probably lean to Georgetown, but not at a cost of 40k+ more over 4 years.
