So I've been lucky enough to get into all of the schools I have applied to but I'm having huge problem picking where to go and my parents aren't helping much! I want another perspective, maybe that will help! So my top choices are:

GWU- $10,000 scholarship
NYU- $25,000 scholarship
BU- $21,000 scholarship
UVA-Zero scholarship but waiting on aid
Northeastern- $23,500 scholarship

I want to major in Psychology and go pre-med because I want to be a Psychiatrist. I've visited all the schools and have pros and cons for days. I'd love some opinions because now I'm just lost!

Without awareness of either your parents or your financial circumstances my inclination would be to go where the financial aid is the greatest.
Those are all very good schools. Are there significant qualitative program differences? Do you mind being in an urban location?
I would be taking the best financial circumstance possible and permitting my parents or myself to put away more money for Med school.

How much are your parents willing to pay a year? I know NYU is notoriously hard on aid. GWU is one of the most expensive schools in the country (at least that’s its reputation). Save your money for med school and go to your cheapest option.

@GreatKid well I would say we are upper middle class. The problem is always we make too much for aid but not enough to attend the school.
I’m from the suburbs of the city and I love it, but I don’t mind a rural area like UVA. All schools are ranked radically different for psychology, UVA being ranked highest and NYU in a close second

@Coste My parents aren’t giving actually numbers but they are leaning towards Northeastern because it would only cost me around $24,000/year to attend. Thank you for your advice!

I don’t think you can really go wrong. All are good options. NYU is strong in psychology, and all those schools are pretty good in pre-med. Once you see what your total aid will be at each school, compare the costs between them. Also, think about what sort of environment and social atmosphere you’d like.

BU and Northeastern sound like your best options. Now, I’d really research both and decide which one fits you best. They’re not too different, but both provide unique opportunities.

I’d cut the others off your list so you can focus on now building the perfect environment at one of the other schools. They’re both great options and very similar, you’re going to love either one!
