<p>I can't decide between University of Virginia and Maryland College Park.
I'm planing on majoring in something to do with science and doing pre-med as well.
UMCP- In-state tuition, honors program
UVA- better school?</p>

<p>my opinion - UVA is a much better school overall, pre-med or otherwise.</p>
<p>I just went to UVA for a conference this past weekend and it was amazing. Seems like it would provide a great undergrad college experience. UVA arguably is the best public in the country, while Maryland is decent, they are not that close.</p>
<p>No comparison, unless you just are totally cost driven. UVA hands down!</p>

<p>Because UMCP is cheaper so you can save your money for grad school.<br>
Plus since the student population is not as prestigious at UMCP you'll be able to impress your professors for better recommendations.</p>
<p>Have you visited UVA? It is beautiful and just a great overall school. Unless your family REALLY can't swing it, don't let the money stand in between a school you really love.</p>
<p>of course UVA>UMCP without the money factor. But, I'm not quite sure UVA is 60K better than the UMCP honor. I saw many UMCP grads got into UMD-med (UMAB) and JHU med school (Warbler can you provide the link here?).</p>
<p>Bottom Line: Save $$$ for your med school==> Go to UMCP honor</p>
