UVA vs UMD

<p>Okay I've narrowed down my list to these two schools. I really do love UVA, it's been my top school forever and I actually got in and am very happy with myself. </p>

<p>This is all based on cost.
UVA cost $45,000 *I still have not heard about financial aid! (FML)
UMD cost $25,000 (Instate)</p>

<p>Here is my situation. My parents are divorced and are supposed to split my tuition. My dad has said that he will pay his half of UVA ($22,500). My mom on the other hand is concerned that she won't be able to pay the full $22,500, so she'd probably be paying about $10,000. Is UVA worth the extra maybe $37,500 over 3 years? (I'm a transfer). I'm a psychology/politics major and maybe want to do an environmental science minor.</p>

<p>It is worth it if you love the school! But don’t give up you may hear back on financial aid. And if they don’t offer enough you can always say: “Look UMD offered me ------ much, can you match it?”… the worst they can say is no!</p>
