UVA vs UMich vs Berkeley vs BC

hi everyone, I’m currently a senior and have been accepted to uva, michigan, Berkeley and BC. I’m interested in studying business and wanted opinions on where I should commit to. I’ve gotten into BC’s b-school, haven’t heard back from umich’s Ross (I applied preferred admission) and can’t apply to the b school at UVA and Berkeley until after my freshman year. is it worth it to take a gamble and go to UVA/Berkeley and hope to get into the b school later on or should I just commit to BC?

Where do you want to work?

Do you live in one of those states?

I don’t think you would be taking much of a chance. You are obviously a great student on several levels. Most would be lucky to get into one of those schools. I would bet you will be above the top half of your college class and thus get in to the business schools at either. Go where you can graduate with the least debt and where you will be happy to live for four years. Good luck.

For business, it matters where you want to work, UC Berkeley will place you better in California than NYC(some still are able to). Boston College is an excellent school but I would wait and see if you got into pre-admit Ross, btw what are your stats?

What’s in-state for you and how much does each cost for you (substracting ONLY grants/scholarships, not loans).

thanks for everyone’s feedback  i’m not in state for any of these schools so they’re all roughly the same price for me except berkeley because it’s just cheaper in general. i’m looking more to work on the east coast/midwest area like nyc and chicago and i’m planning on going into econ/marketing.
my stats are 33 ACT (36 M 33 E 34 R 27 S) & 4.0 UW GPA

In that case, I’d say Ross first, BC second; your odds at McIntyre aren’t bad though.

a215girl, for OOS students, Cal is at least as expensive as Michigan. Tuition alone may be slightly higher at Michigan, but cost of living is higher in CA. Overall, both Cal and Michigan are going to be slightly cheaper than BC but slightly more expensive than UVa, unless you have received aid/scholarship money from one of the schools.
