So I’m down to the two in the title but they seem equal in just about every way just opposite. I want to major in Physics and I can’t decide on which one, does one have a better name recognition for Physics?
Michigan has a significantly stronger reputation than UVa in the STEM fields. However, I am not sure that this will necessarily serve your purpose at the undergraduate level.
At the moment I plan to go to Grad School (tentative obviously and everything could change) so would it matter then?
UVA if you’re in-state; otherwise Michigan.
Michigan is better in graduate STEM reputation than UVA, but I don’t think it really matters that much at an undergraduate level. Most students end up changing their major. I wouldn’t generally pick based on a department. Focus on fit.
If you are in state for either option I’d go, otherwise personal preference.
