Ok, so I know versions of this thread already exist, but I think my areas of comparison are different that those which have been mentioned before. I have a few questions that will play a key role in my decision, which I will list below.
- Is Blacksburg a traditional style campus like Charlottesville, and if not, how does it compare?
- I know UVA is known for having better liberal arts programs, and VT for it's technical schools, but are VT's non-STEM majors still somewhat well-regarded? Are they at least headed in the right direction?
- Specifically, what's the reputation of Virginia Tech's journalism program, specifically its Advertising concentration, and what is the reputation of UVA's undergrad gov program?
- This isn't really a school specific question, but I've heard majoring in government makes it hard to find a job, is this true? Does the degree translate well to other professions, and does it involve a healthy amount of writing?
Thanks for any and all help, and sorry if my post was unclear, it was a little rushed!
