I got into eight schools and i've narrowed it down to these. My parents are pushing for W&L, but it is in my home town Lexington, VA. Haverford is probably the best academically but it costs over 40 g's a year and i am not getting any financial aid. UVA is good and VERY cheap, but its big. Any ideas? (majoring in some type of science) I am still on the waitlist for Williams or Amherst.

Haverford is not the best academically...UVA is.

All are obviously good schools.....science is not UVA's strength though ok. How about going to the place you like the best and ignoring the academics given that all choices are sound.

UVA is the best academically by far and has the most beautiful campus.

W&L all the way!!!!!!! UVA isn't too far from lexington so it's not like you're going far away...

UVA is not the best academically by far. it's a very different school from haverford.

In terms of academic reputation, I'd say UVA and Haverford are close. They're BOTH excellent schools, and so is W&L for that matter. But yes, very different. Although it's probably too late now, I'd base your decision on something other than academics.
