Has anyone been to the UVA Young Writers Workshop and can give a review on it? I’m currently debating whether or not to attend. The cost is influencing my decision (my parents are willing to pay if I want to go but it’s definitely not cheap haha), and I want to evaluate whether it’s worth the cost. I don’t think I want to major in English or writing or anything like that, but I think writing is a pretty valuable skill. Hopefully, it might also improve my writing in college essays and writing competitions? Does UVA have any impact on admissions btw? And is it just a rewarding experience overall?
I’ve been accepted to session 1 with the screen and play workshop. I was drawn to applying since screenplay with the entertainment industry has always been like a hidden career I’ve had a secret interest in (but no experience or knowledge of whatsoever, also probably unlikely that I will end up in this career but who knows :)) I can also try to switch so if you guys have any opinions on creative writing being more helpful or better let me know!
PS. I already paid that 250 deposit, I saw that it’s non-refundable though
Any advice or opinions would be appreciated! Also, if you’ve been accepted and very excited to go, please share your opinion too! Thanks in advance:)
