With a 3.9 gpa (a bit higher than top 10 percent of class)

I have taken several ap classes, and I have an upward trend in my grades.

Sat = cr: 680 math: 670 writing : 620

Im a va resident.. But I know these stats are on the lower end. Is it worth applying, and what kind of chances would I have?

Ask at your school’s guidance office. The NoVA school systems have data going back several years (aggregate/averages and scatter plots of GPA & SAT) of applications and admissions to all the VA schools. Some of the aggregated data is on the public internet and discoverable by google and the other search sites. The scatter charts were on an internal (Blackboard?) system. I would be very surprised if other school systems do not keep similar records.

GPA & SAT are just 2 factors in admissions decisions. The scatter charts only reflect those 2 factors, but may be helpful in guiding your choices. If you think your SAT scores (and SAT II) are too low but you can do siginificantly better, you have time to do so and still hit the EA deadlines in the fall. Keep in mind that Virginia has several fine state schools.

Bump, can I get an opinion on this?
