does anyone know how they deal with those who are abroad? do they send the decision via express mail?

I got my acceptance letter today in the mail. It was in a small envelope so don't have a heart attack until you open it.

As for stats:
3.6 at WM, sent midsemester spring and they were 3.5
1450 SAT
SAT II's were jokes
HS EC's fine, College EC's nothing special
essays nothing special

I was waitlisted ED and deferred RD last year. But third time's the charm

congrats, saladfingers100! what is your major?

damn saladfingers, I have no shot then...I got a 3.15 @ WM and I'm OOS...Oh well!

What didn't you like about W&M btw? I'm taking a poll

Got my rejection letter today.. Mailed at home not at my current address, mom had to read it out to me.. Anyone here think the application process for this school was way to short?

for those of you who have received word....

where did they send it? did they send it to the place you indicated on your app as where to contact you until may 1st, or did they send it to your permanent address?

I really don't want to have to have my parents read it to me.

Got into the waiting list... Have to send my second semester grades and they would notify by June 1 if waitlist students got in or not.. Any advice from you guys as to what I should do would be really appreciated.. Thanks..

What are your stats? humhaikamai?

HS GPA: about 3.4

College 1st semester GPA: 3.61 (Biology Major)

ECs: student gov, alpha lambda delta (recently inducted), National Society of Collegiate Scholars (recently became a member), Job at a doctors office for the past 1.5 years

Other: first one from family to go to an American University,
going to change my major to Biochem in sophmore year

Going to send a recommendation from current professor

Currently appying for research

Taking 17 credits in 2nd semester, expect to get all As EXCEPT for Animal Biology, and thats what I am afraid about because thats the only Bio class I have and I think I would get a C in that class. As in Gen Chem II, Psyc, Micro Econ, and Comm.

I got waitlisted, too. I'd really love to go to UVa, but I got into Vanderbilt, so I'm not sure if it is worth trying to get off the waitlist.

i got in. instate, but probably not going. i was accepted to engineering school, but i am changing my mind to business. i am at vt now, had 3.8 last semester.

Accepted: 3.9 GPA at a junior college in VA, out-of-state, great recs, good essays, all that kind of stuff. I'm just wondering about money...I want to commit to UVA, but I have no idea as to how much money they'll give me. I haven't been able to get through to the fin. aid people at all today...

When you transfer to UVA, does your gpa from your present college transfer too? Or do u start with no gpa?

i beleive you start with a new gpa

you technically start with a new gpa, but law schools (and i would assume all graduate schools) ask for you transcripts and gpas from all colleges attended.

I got my letter today; accepted into engineering. The website still doesn't give my decision, so for those furiously clicking, keep in mind that it's likely that you'll get the decision in the mail first.

My roommate applied to UVa...his parents are gone for the week so he has no idea...he's freaking out man...hang in there guys!!

just got my acceptence letter to the McIntire School of Commerce by e-mail. 3.8 gpa, though bad sat's (M720/V550/W630). i'm transferring from Russia, wrote some interesting essays about my background and experience. guess, this was what hooked them .

got accepted.....

3.63 good essays, out of state, great and orginial ec's, but poor hs and sat...but they took me!!

I got waitlisted to UVA. Bummer for me, this whole week has been hell at VT. I haven't hated a school more in my life.
