I love UVa and grew up with Cavalier pride.

in state or OOS? and what are your SAT scores

In state! and 450 math, 550 critical reading and 510 writing

I would like to major in Foreign Languages. Such as Russian, Korean, Spanish, Arabic and maybe Cantonese. I love being a salesperson also so I might look into minoring in marketing/sales or something on those lines.

I’m sorry but with those scores I’d say that your chances are very low

My advice-- do a ton of ECs, get phenomenal letters of rec, and write awesome essays

Do you think they’ll deny me because of my SAT scores?

Yeah, pretty sure. Your UW GPA isn’t necessarily to UVa’s level, either. UVa’s average SAT is 1850-2180, so you’ve pretty far out there. I’m really sorry, I love UVa as well so I get how great it is

Do you think they’ll consider me because of the other factors?

I’m sorry, but with that SAT there’s essentially no chance. It looks like VCU is test optional if you have a GPA above 3.3 and don’t need the big merit scholarships- are you applying there? George Mason also has a test-optional option if you have a 3.5 with solid curriculum and are in the top 20 percent of your class. JMU is not test optional, I don’t think, but would be a good low reach/high match.

But UVA is holistic, won’t they consider me despite my SATS?

UVA last time I checked is the third highest ranked public school in the nation. They’re holistic to a point. Like I said, average SAT is 1850-2180, and these are students who also have great ECs, essays, and letters of rec. It is known for being a very competitive school
