<p>I'm currently a junior looking at the University of Virginia.</p>

<p>Stats:
Public school in NJ, sends several kids each year to Ivies.
GPA unweighted: 4.0
ACTs: 27 (plan to study and retake it senior year)
SAT II's: going to take two in June (bio and history)
Rank: kind of low due to moving soph year and going to a cut-throat school, top 18%
Rigorous course load, will have completed 6 AP classes by end of senior year.
Activities:
1. Yearbook editor
2. NHS
3. Interact club
4. Hospital volunteer
5. I work part-time during the summer
6. I take summer classes at a community college.</p>

<p>others: first generation college, female, moved from FL during my soph year.</p>

<p>Do I have a chance? What are some similar schools to UVa that I should check out?</p>

<p>ACT is on the low side for out of state, but your GPA is obviously very good. Since it seems you like the south, some other schools you may want to consider are Wake Forest, UNC, Va Tech, and College of William and Mary.</p>

<p>You should retake the ACT, other than that you are fine.</p>
