UVM Chance me?

Hey this is my first time on this website, I am hoping to get some answers. I look forward to all answers, even if they are critical, criticism motivates me to keep going.

So my top college if the University of Vermont. Ever since I arrived on the campus to visit a friend there freshman year, I never even considered the thought of going to another college. Here are my Stats so far.

Grade: Highschool Junior (11)
School: Central Catholic High School
Graduation Year: 2013
GPA: 2.87 (referencing from sophomore year.) Yes I am well aware this is ridiculously low and some people may want to say don't even bother trying. But hold up a sec. As a junior I learned from my mistakes, we are human afterall and we learn from our faults... currently I am pursuing Junior year with a 3.58 gpa for the quarter, and i intend to keep it this way.
SAT: I did not take them yet, though i intend to get in the 1600's

Course Load Junior year:

Latin 1
Honors Spanish 3
Geometry
Honors US History 2 (Though I plan to take the AP test in May)
Chemistry
Survey of British Literature
Religion 2

Extra Curriculars and Service:

Every summer, for 2 years, I have been a staff member for a small, up and coming charter school for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. The students range from teenagers to people in their 20's....Primarily, I focus on the communication skills of those who may have a case of Apergers Syndrome.

Currently, I work for WQED Multimedia, a television program based in Pittsburgh, PA. As an intern, I work three days a week after school. I do script logging for video captured interviews that other journalists may broadcast in the future. As of now, we are finishing up a documentary which will air later on this year.

For two years now, I have been a part of Central Catholic's "Best Friend's" program. This is a service where students, like me, go the Children's Institute ( a facility for students catering Autism, Down Syndrome etc.) every friday and volunteer there after school.

As far as athletics goes, I am on the Central Catholic Highschool Swim team.

Sophomore year, I was an ensemble for the Central Catholic Masque (Masque is our Drama club haha) play "Good News."

For my essay: Yes i know it is not even senior year, but I plan to write my essay on my reflection of the students of the charter school that caters to children on the autistic spectrum. Prior to working there, I was clueless to how an individual with autism thought and felt on a day to day basis. Though after working there each summer, I have learned that each student seemed to be more like me everyday I became exposed to their amazing company. I learned of their hardships and their accomplishments. I have come to realize that they are no different than me. I will conclude the essay with how I now strive to prevent discrimination and abuse towards people on the Autistic spectrum.

UVM admissions is very stats oriented; in my opinion, and from what I have seen, you will be deferred in the early action round due to your GPA; it will then be up to you to convince them why they should admit you in the RD round…

If you can do very well on your SAT/ACT, it would certainly help

really, thank you for your advice i completely agree with you… the gpa really hurts but i will definitly make an effort to to bust my butt for thr SAT’s lol…

I also forgot to mention I also am interning for a theatre production company here in Pennsylvania mid november
