UVM vs. Connecticut College - Psychology

Hi All!
I’m having a hard time deciding between Conn and UVM and I’d really appreciate any help. Thank you so much! Here are some notes:

I received pretty good aid at both schools so the cost would be pretty similar (not a factor).

I’m a prospective Psychology Major (hopefully on pre-med track) but I’m also interested in sustainability and gender studies.

Conn Pros

  • beautiful camps
    -closer to home than UVM
-seems very accommodating to students in all ways (including dietary restrictions)
    -good study abroad
-guaranteed single dorm by sophomore year
-small size means a better chance at developing strong relationships with profs

Conn Cons

  • small size so could be cliquey?
-seems very preppy (I’m not at all)
-seems homogenous from what I can tell

UVM pros

  • larger size means I’d see new people everyday
-hospital on campus with potential volunteer/internship opportunities
-student population seems earthy and down to earth (which I identify with)
  • lots of nature and outdoor opportunities

UVM cons
-there seems to be a lot of party people there (I enjoy parties occasionally but prefer smaller hangouts)
-super cold in winter
-weed usage seems high (no pun intended)
-less of an individual focus than conn because of larger size.
-Burlington is expensive

Forming strong connections with profs is important to me, which is drawing me to Conn, but I also adore outdoor activities (hiking, biking, relaxing) and I’m not preppy at all. I’m very passionate about sustainability and animal rights and I’m a little concerned I won’t be around people that are very interested in those things at Conn, but I know they’ll be at UVM. I also worry that Conn may be cliquy because of it’s small size, but I like the idea of knowing my profs and having them know be as individuals and the small class sizes there.

So I guess my main questions are:
Is Conn cliquy? Would a vegan who is passionate about sustainability and loves hiking find a group here?

Is the UVM social scene based around partying? Is there an individual focus at UVM or do you just blend into a crowd of students?

Thanks so much again for reading and any help you may give.
