<p>I got the presedential! I was definitely shocked with the money since i dont have the scores. But when i toured uvm they said how they know their school is high priced so theyre giving much more merit aid this year</p>

<p>With total cost to OOS at $47k/yr, they may worry that they’re pricing themselves out of the market. Or perhaps they planned on using the “instant rebate” as a marketing tool all along.</p>

The cost gap between the two has widened since this thread was started four years ago. Full cost is roughly 28K for instate at UMASS Amherst and 52K for OOS at U VT.
