UW acceptance

Do you guys think that the University of Washington, UW, would accept me?
GPA: 3.65 (unweighted)
SAT: 1340
ACT: 25
100+ hours of community service
4 years varsity lacrosse
3 year cross country
3 years swim team
Honors

Is your SAT Reading and Math only? Or all of them? If it’s the latter of the two, then I strongly recommend that you improve that about 500ish points to be in the average zone. Your ECs look good, your GPA is decent, your coarse load is also an important factor as well as your essays.

Well the SAT score was my first time ever taking it that is the reason it was so lower to begin with. What about different ethnic backgrounds, does that increase the chances of acceptance?

If you were an under represented minority like Native Americans, Hispanics, and Blacks, then I guess that would help in a sense. Anyways, you have plenty of time to bring that up, just don’t slack (like I did :stuck_out_tongue: ) for your SATs.

I’d say that you have a decent chance if u are in-state, as soon as you can increase your SATs to the 1800s range. Otherwise, as an OOS, it’s slightly more competitive, so a bit higher GPA and SATs will help you out. Your other credentials are looking good.

I agree with the other posters here. Basically the largest factor holding you back is your SAT score. Your GPA is slightly on a bit lower side but you have great activities. Don’t forget to put your heart and soul in your essays. :)
