UW Autumn 2014 Transfer Thread

@potatomawnster, that page didn’t change when my unofficial transcript changed, and it still hasn’t changed now that I’ve got the letter. And thank you :)

@Candela2, what major did you apply to? Did you already get an acceptance letter to your major?

@darkcurls67, I applied as a Psychology major. The psych department doesn’t accept applications until after you’ve been admitted to the UW, so I haven’t actually submitted anything to the UW Psych department yet.

I’ve heard that for students who need to be accepted into their major at the time of admission (I think this includes Business and Engineering majors?), they often get admitted in later acceptance batches, since UW admissions coordinates with the relevant department.

@Candela2‌
Congrats!!! Thats amazing that you found out so early!!! What were your stats if you dont mind! And are u in state?

@Working4UW, Thank you :)

My stats are:
GPA: 3.7
Credits earned: 91 so far, expect to earn 106 before Autumn quarter begins
SAT: (didn’t include with this application, but they’re on my transcript) CR 750 M 760

GPA for major prereqs: 4.0
Essay: Everyone thinks their essay is good, I thought mine was as well =P
Extracurriculars: None in particular. I’m a tutor at my CC but I didn’t put this anywhere in my application.
Awards: I attended high school on an academic scholarship, but no awards in college

Location: I live in Washington State, but I will probably be counted as OOS until I complete the residency questionnaire. My case is complicated but I will probably be considered a resident for Autumn quarter.
I went to high school in Australia though.

@Candela2 congrats!

@ellerrad9, thank you. I remember you from the Winter quarter thread. I hope you get in this time around too :)

@Candela2 Thank you! I remember you too! I applied to Bothell this time, not only because it tends to be easier to get in but there is actually a program there I discovered and am really excited about.

@Candela2 those are great stats! Im kind of nervous especially since they have sent out the first batch. Im glad you dont have to worry about waiting haha. So did u apply with 91 credits?

Oh man if I wasn’t anxious enough before I certainly am now! @Candela2‌ I have similar stats to you, a bit lower (3.6 GPA and 3.8 in my psych prerequisites) and I applied on the same day as you. I will have 92 credits from instate CC and a DTA. I was really hoping for a surprise in the mailbox but no luck. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!

@Working4UW, I technically applied with 76 credits, and completed 15 more during Winter quarter. I sent my transcripts for Winter over as soon as they were available though.

I got my acceptance letter today!!!

@micylt, Congratulations! :slight_smile: Fingers crossed for everyone who is still waiting!

@micylt‌ Congrats! Can you post your stats? :)

@micylt‌ Congratulations man!! Did u apply for a major as well? And did the unofficial transcript trick work for you too??

Congrats, @micylt‌! Are you an in state or out of state student? Also, were you in a CC or 4 year?

Thanks, guys! It’s definitely a weight lifted off my shoulders. I was a student at Bellevue College for two years where I will be obtaining my AA degree. My major is math(for now) and my gpa is 3.7. I applied as out of state, but I qualify for residency and was accepted for residency at Bellevue College. Just sent all the paperwork for it to UW :). And yes, the unofficial transcript works! Not only that, but there’s other tabs available - such as class registration page, degree audit, etc… Hope that helps, good luck to you all!

@Candela2 oh okay! Are u getting your AA? And did u mark that on the application?

@Working4UW‌, I’m not getting my AA, just taking extra classes to fulfill requirements. The UW can only accept 90 transferable credits up front, but your major department can approve up to 135, so it’s worthwhile for me to do some extra credits. :)

@Candela2 oh wow! I didnt know that! Thank you thats great to know! So did u mark on application whether u will be getting AA or not? Like I marked I will have 90 credits but not AA. Im wondering if that effects admission decision you know.
