<p>I did not audition for band, but can I still take classes as a minor? Is there any requirements or can I just sign up for classes? Do minor receive lots of opportunities to play in the concerts?</p>
<p>There are many bands--marching band, symphony, ensembles, etc. Most marching band people are not music majors.</p>
<p>I think you probably mean like the symphonic band. For the marching band you sign up for the class during SOAR and then if you don't end up making it, you just take a different class. I don't know how that works for other bands but I don't think it would be too much different....</p>
<p>Marching band is quite a time commitment. You have to go 4 times a week from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The benefits........you will most likely get an A and can use that to bump up your GPA. Also you get to go to the football games on saturday!</p>
